The Dean, Prof.N.S.Rajan Sir gave a powerful start to the session by explaining the theme and discussing the current economic scenario of India. To bring about a change, he highlighted the importance of implementation because planning alone cannot suffice. He also threw light on the major areas of development such as technology, engineering and R&D. India needs to focus more on innovation. There are a lot of markets which are still untapped and can be exploited for growth and development of the country.
