National Industrial Visit To Rajasthan ( Jodhpur & Jaisalmer )

Atharva School of Business organised an industrial visit to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) for a week for PGDM Semester-1 students (2021-2023) batch in order to enhance their practical stimulation and to let them having an overview on the activities related to manufacturing and other operational activities that takes place in different industries.

Students visited two prominent industries of Jodhpur (Rajasthan) which involved Kansara Bearings Ltd. and Saras Dairy India.

The Visit was organised under the guidance of Hon. Director Dr. Harshita Kumar.

Mehrangarh Fort

This fort was constructed by Rao Jodha in 1459 and its around 120 meters above the ground nearby in its nearby vicinity they have Temple of Ravan and on Dussehra people this temple have sad day here.

Mehrangarh crowns a rocky hill that rises 400 feet above the surrounding plain and is of the largest fort in Rajasthan. For over 5 centuries it has been the headquarters of the senior branch of Rajput clan known as Rathores.

The fort is known for its beautiful architecture, formidable walls and cultural heritage and it covers an area of 1200 acres and was constructed by Rajput ruler Rao Jodha.

Kansara Bearing Ltd

The company deals in the manufacturing of rollers which are used in the bearings of automobiles.

There are 300 employees working in the industry out of which 14 are females.

Students also visited another industry of the same company which is called as Kansara Modler Limited. It is an Indo-German Joint Venture.

Once the final product is made it is then supplied to 30% Indian market and 70% to International Market.

Saras Dairy Ltd

It is considered as one of the second largest dairy industry in Rajasthan.

In this industry milk is outsourced in large quantities from farmers of nearby areas via huge trucks and then purified within industry with the help of automatic machineries.

Students were shown how milk is purified through Pasteurisation process that is milk is firstly heated at 55 degree Celsius and then cooled down for some time. This process helps in eliminating the bacteria from milk.

Students were also shown the manufacturing of other dairy products like Butter, Ghee, Cottage Cheese.

Umaid Bhavan Palace

Umaid Bhavan is considered as the magnificeint piece of Rajasthan’s heritage.

The palace has 347 rooms and is the principal residence of the former Jodhpur royal family and a part of the palace is a museum where they have a beautiful collection of royal vintage cars.

Desert Safari ( Jaisalmer )

Students got an opportunity to experience Camel Safari and Jeep Safari in one of the biggest and popular desert of India named as Thar Desert situated on the borders of Jaisalmer.

Khaba Fort

Khaba Fort, is the court for local people managed by Thakurs in previous times.

The fort is made up of sandstone and rocks and no morter was used to build it and they used lock and key system to maintain their position. The fort was inhabited by palival brahmins.

Patwon Ki Haveli

9th March 2022

Patwon Ki Haveli also known as the Mansion Of Brocade Merchants. Patwon Ki Haveli is a cluster of five large Havelis in Jaisalmer.

Built in 1805 by Gurman Chand Patwa, it took the workers almost 55 years to complete the first haveli. It is the first and largest haveli to be constructed in Jaisalmer.

Today the cluster of Havelis is occupied by the Rajasthan government’s art and craft department.

Jaisalmer Fort

Counted amongst the largest forts in the world, Jaisalmer fort is the most popular landmark of Jaisalmer city.

The fort was built in 1156, and is a proud chattel of the Bhati clan. Rawal Jaiswal was the founder of Jaisalmer city, and Jaisalmer fort was built in his reign.

It is a 250 foot tall fort, which is protected by 30 feet long walls.

The fort constitutes 99 bastions, amongst these 92 were built between 1633 and 1647. One can see the fusion of Islamic and Rajput architecture.

Khaba Fort is a ruined citadel set amid a barren desert village. It’s an architecturally impressive landmark full of eeriness, history and mysticism. Wander the dusty streets lined with crumbling houses and almost devoid of human activity. Khaba Fort dates back to the 13th century and was once an important part of Kuldhara, a village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. Sometime during the 1800s the residents fled the village and left behind a ghost town.

The company has expertise in manufacturing of CNC vertical machining centers, CNC horizontal machining centers and in providing manufacturing solutions centered around these products. The company was started in the year 1994 and has been able to install over 8000 machines locally and globally in total ever since.

Silk weaving Factory, Mysore

The students of PGDM witnessed the life cycle of a silk fabric from cocoon to cloth in a Silk Weaving Factory in Mysore. It was very exciting for the students to see Sericulture; the process of obtaining pure Silk at a Medium Scale Industry. They saw thread making, weaving of Silk Saree with pure gold zari on looms, dying of a sari and showroom where the sari are finally sold in Lakhs. It was a great learning experience for them to understand the purity of silk and the cost associated with it.

The students were spellbound to know that the society is earning a marginal profit margin because it has adopted the poor farmers and providing full financial security to the cows and the farmers in their tough time.
