Launch of Marketing Club

MARKOMANIA ~ Passion Beyond Imagination

On 29th March 2022, we launched our Marketing club. Our hosts then gave a brief introduction to marketing and how the club aims at helping students to learn the concepts of marketing and gain a competitive edge by conducting various events in the institute.

Moving forward, the hosts introduced the Guest of Honor - Mr. Winay Bari Sir, an Avid Digital Marketing Enthusiast who is currently working with a Leading Indian Bank as the Assistant Vice President - Digital Marketing.

The event then proceeded with the much-awaited moment, the Name, Logo and Tagline Reveal of the Marketing Club by Mr. Winay Bari Sir. He went forward to the screen and completed the unveiling by clicking a button that revealed the Marketing Club – Mark-O-Mania in a very exciting way. The tagline of the club is “Passion beyond Imagination”

The hosts briefly spoke about Mark-o-Mania and how it aspires to assist students to develop their creative thinking abilities in solving problems and marketing issues.

The event was then graced by the motivating words of Dr. R G Ratnawat (Director of Atharva Institute of Management Studies). He talked about how marketing is not just a passion today, but it is also a compulsion.

This was followed by an inspiring speech by Ms. Pallavi Rane (Trustee of Atharva Education Trust). Ms. Pallavi Rane conveyed that branding and marketing go hand-in-hand and we must therefore always keep evolving ourselves. She also spoke about how the past 2 years saw a boom in the digital marketing space due to the pandemic.

Following Ms. Pallavi Rane ma’am’s speech, Mr. Winay Bari Sir was invited to grace the dais and share his knowledge on marketing. Mr. Winay began by appreciating the marketing team for the successfully organized event and thanking the dignitaries for offering him the opportunity to grace the event. He spoke about his journey and how he kept experimenting with different tasks to finally find what he loved doing – Digital Marketing.

After Mr. Winay Sir took his seat, it was time for the next segment – Skit and Performance by students. The skit was all about different concepts and types of marketing, viz. affiliate marketing, door-to-door marketing, personal selling, influence marketing, sales promotion, and customer feedback. The students performed very well with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. They depicted the concepts in a humorous way that had the audience laughing, yet filled with the knowledge of the marketing world. It was followed by a performance where various TV ad songs were sung to invoke nostalgic memories and to help the audience gain a better understanding of how marketing works.

After the skit, our own Dr. Harshita Kumar (Director of Atharva School of Business) enlightened the audience with her words. She began by highlighting the fact that marketing, in today’s world, goes hand-in-hand with sales. She spoke about how personal selling and 1 to 1 selling are gaining traction today, and by addressing the fact that the customer is indeed the king, marketers should always keep the customer’s needs first. Dr. Harshita Kumar Mam ended her speech by wishing the entire marketing team luck in their future endeavors.

The event came to an end after offering the Vote of Thanks and the National Song – Vande Mataram was played before the dignitaries and audience dispersed.
